Recycled crayon hearts

Our first Valentine craft this yearvalentine

I found this cool way of reusing all those leftover bits of crayons so I went on a hunt.

Here’s where i found them…

At the bottom of pencil cases

In drawers

In the toy box

In my hand bag

Under cushions

In the car door

The list goes on, the point is:

Like most things in life they are there to be discovered if you are looking for them.

What we did

I chopped the crayons into tiny pieces

My little helper tried smashing them with his wooden hammer

We filled some heart shaped silicone cake moulds with little fists full of shredded crayons

Next I put them in the oven at 150 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes

Then they went in the fridge for about an hour and then they were ready to pop out.

love

The silicone moulds are ruined.

I can make more lovely crayons but i will not be making cakes in them again.

If you use a tin tray this will not be the case.
