No cook playdough

One of my all time favourite activities is making playdough.

This is the recipe i always use because it is fun,

easy and there is no cooking and ruining my pots involved.

WARNING

If you are making playdough with toddlers don’t answer the phone!

What we do

Let the little kids do as much of this as possible.

Pour the flour and salt in a bowl

Feel the textures in our fingers

Play with this for a while

Next

Pour the water into a glass

Add 3 drops of oil

Watch how the oil and the water won’t mix

Add the food colour

(if using paint add later when all ingredients are in the bowl)

Watch the colour spread

Now slowly pour the water into the bowl mixing all the time

You may not need all of the water

Put the dough on out on the table and kneed and squash until it is just right.

I put a sprinkling of flour into little yogurt tubs in case the dough is wet.

There are endless possibilities as to what you can add.

Our favourites are pots, tea set,kid size butter knives, sticks and googly eyes.

Try it out. You’ll have great fun.
